Metro Boosters Parents Organization Minimize

Welcome!

Metro Boosters Parents Organization is a non-profit (501c3) organization that supports dancers and their families at Metro Dance Center.  The funds we raise pay for:

  • Competition kickoff party (games, prizes, activities for dancers, and music for dancing)
  • Gifts for all competition dancers, given at the kickoff party or at the end of the dance season to commemorate their year of dance
  • Team-building activities for competition students
  • Special gifts for graduating seniors

To help fund the gifts, parties, and team-building activities, we ask that a small fee ($15/dancer, $35/max per family) be paid for each competition-line student.

We raise additional funds to help pay for senior gifts and team-building activities through fundraising.  In recent years, we have provided these fundraising opportunities to parents (and older dancers):
  • Vikings game (we have the BEST booth at the Metrodome - section 107 right outside the owner's suite).
  • Wreaths/pointsettias
  • Butter Braids
  • Flowers (spring)
  • Flowers, Balloon, and Food concessions at the spring recitals
Money that you earn through these fundraising activities is tracked by individual participant.  What that means is, money you raise through the fundraising activities can be granted back to you, minus a nominal fee to those who coordinate or manage the accounting for those activities.  You can use that money to pay for your dance-related expenses.

See
Fundraising Opportunities for more information.

To become a member, please fill out this membership form and bring it to the studio (there is Boosters box on the counter where you can drop off your form and payment).

If you have additional questions about the Metro Dance Boosters organization, contact any one of the current board members.

Purpose

The purpose of the Metro Booster Parents Organization is to support the after-school activity of dance education. The dance instruction occupies the student's time throughout the school year and periodically throughout the summer. We believe that with our support, the students gain an appreciation of dance as a fine art, which is beneficial to society in general. Our organization facilitates the involvement of the students through various team-building activities.  We also provide fundraising opportunities to pay for a portion of the instructional costs and supplies necessary for the classes.

Volunteers

Each year, volunteer parents from the studio run the organization. We welcome any booster members to attend the monthly meetings where we plan fundraisers, events, and recital concessions.  Officer positions are held for two years, general board member positions are held for one year. If you are interested in volunteering, have great ideas, and have a student in dance, come to a meeting and share your knowledge and energy with us!
